PEOPLE WOULD RATHER GET A NIGHT IN JAIL THAN DO TAXES
How much do people hate doing their taxes? Well, according to a survey by Wallet Hub, there are some pretty unpleasant things people would opt to do instead of their taxes, like ...
27% of those surveyed said they would rather get an IRS tattoo if it meant never having to file a return again.
13% thought they’d rather spend a night in jail.
11% said they'd clean Chipotle's toilets for three years.
Despite all this dread and pessimism, 70% of Americans are getting a refund. That’s something to celebrate, isn’t it?

All you procrastinators have a full weekend to get your taxes done, because this year Tax Day is Monday, April 18th.
Why the change this year? We know that when the 15th falls on the weekend, Tax Day is moved to the Monday after. But that’s not the reason this year, since today, April 15th, is a Friday. No, it all has to do with a holiday that is observed only in Washington, D.C.
Emancipation Day – a day that marks the day that the Compensated Emancipation Act was signed by President Abraham Lincoln – is a legal holiday in D.C. and is observed annually on April 16th.
Because Emancipation Day is a legal holiday, public employees (like those working for the IRS) are given the day off work. But because April 16th falls on a Saturday this year, those employees are getting today (Friday) off. So it pushes the tax deadline to April 18th.
